Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Your safari begins with a pick-up from your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. Upon arrival, you will meet your experienced guide, who will warmly welcome you and provide a detailed briefing on the itinerary. Soon after, you will embark on the scenic drive to Amboseli National Park, which is located approximately 240 kilometers southeast of Nairobi. Along the way, enjoy changing landscapes and the gradual transition from urban settings to open savannahs.

Arrival in Amboseli

Upon arrival in Amboseli, check into your lodge or camp and enjoy lunch while taking in the stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. In the late afternoon, set out on your first game drive, exploring the park’s vast plains and swamps. Amboseli is renowned for its large elephant herds and offers excellent opportunities to spot lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, and various bird species.

Day 2: Game Drive and Transfer to Lake Nakuru

Start your day with an early morning game drive, the best time to see wildlife as the animals are most active. Capture the beautiful sunrise over Mount Kilimanjaro and observe the diverse wildlife in their natural habitat.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, a journey of approximately 400 kilometers. The drive takes you through the scenic Great Rift Valley, offering stunning views and opportunities for photo stops. Arrive at Lake Nakuru in the afternoon and check into your lodge or camp. Enjoy a late lunch followed by a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos and as a sanctuary for rhinos. The park’s diverse ecosystems, including acacia forests and grasslands, provide a home for a variety of wildlife.

Day 3: Morning Birding and Transfer to Lake Naivasha

Begin the day with a morning birding session in Lake Nakuru National Park. The park is a haven for bird enthusiasts, with over 450 species recorded. Look out for flamingos, pelicans, kingfishers, and other waterbirds along the lake shores.

After breakfast, set off for Lake Naivasha, located about 80 kilometers from Lake Nakuru. Day 4: Game Drive and Transfer to Masai Mara

Spend the morning exploring the area around Lake Naivasha. You might choose to visit Crescent Island Game Park, where you can walk among giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife.

After breakfast, embark on the journey to the Masai Mara National Reserve, approximately 240 kilometers away. Arrive in the Masai Mara in the afternoon, check into your lodge or camp, and have lunch. Later, head out for an evening game drive, where you’ll begin to witness the incredible wildlife of the Mara, including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino).

Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Visit to Masai Mara Village

Start your day with an early morning game drive in the Masai Mara. The reserve is known for its high concentration of wildlife and offers some of the best game viewing opportunities in Africa. Look out for predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs as they hunt in the cool morning hours.

After breakfast, visit a local Maasai village to learn about the traditional customs and lifestyle of the Maasai people. Participate in cultural activities, including traditional dances and songs, and gain insights into their way of life.

Once you’ve finished breakfast, begin your journey back to Nairobi—a scenic drive of approximately 270 kilometres. As you travel, enjoy your final glimpses of the vast African landscape and reflect on the incredible experiences you’ve had. Eventually, upon arrival in Nairobi in the afternoon, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight. Alternatively, if you are extending your stay in Kenya, you will be driven to your hotel to relax and unwind. At this point, your unforgettable safari adventure gently comes to a close.
